I’m Cliff, I run the “Coaching with Cliff” group here at Live Traders. Recently, my wife and I were looking for a movie to watch and we settled on City Slickers. As I watched, I was struck by the powerful message it conveyed about why we all sometimes find ourselves stuck in a rut. Billy Crystal’s character was in a similar situation, feeling like his life and work were going nowhere. He was waiting for something to change, but eventually realized that he was the only one who could make a difference. When his wife asked if he was still going to quit his job, he replied, “I’m not going to quit my job. I’m going to do it better. I’m going to do everything better.”
This resonated with me, in my work as a trading coach, it served as a reminder that we all have the power to make positive changes in our lives. Trading can be a perplexing business, and it’s easy to blame bad luck for our losses. However, the traders who make it to the highest levels they’ve always aspired to, exhibiting confidence, and making sound decisions, don’t simply wait around. They recognize the role of bad luck, but then they take it upon themselves to do their job even better.
Myself and the other are coaches are here to help our traders do their job better, so they can make more money with less stress. They can get to do the trading they love, get paid well for it, and enjoy all the benefits that come with being a professional trader. They can leave behind the pain, frustration, and envy of not being as far along as they could be.
